ARTIST STATEMENT
Christina Galbiati’s collage artwork emphasizes the importance of print media. Paper and printed word-image are her main choices of media, creating Dadaistic patterns with mechanical process and juxtaposing with minimalist forms through collage. The uneven value, broken line and abstract pattern, while visually engaging, is meant to assist in the realization that print media is an integral part society despite its increasing reliance on intangible forms of communication. While her subject matter is diverse—social theme, conceptual iconography, and pictorial images for younger audiences—exploring Craft, Dada, and Pop art eras is the syncretic narrative unique to her visual voice
